Seba - Identity

Seba es uno de mis productores y DJs favoritos en cuanto a Drum and Base se refiere. Ha trabajado con personalidades importantes del género como LTJ Bukem, entre muchísimas otras. Tenía mucho tiempo sin saber de este artista británico y me congratulo de poder comentar su más reciente produción intitulada Identity. Desde hace varios años nuestro querido Sebastian Ahrenberg había venido sacando EPs y vinilos de un tema con sus respectivos mixes, pero finalmente se animó y dio el tiempo para hacer un material de larga duración. Identity fue lanzado a principios de marzo y en él tenemos diez temas de entre los cuales tenemos dos invitados con los que ha trabajado previamente: R. Manos, amigo entrañable, J. Jinder y K. Hawkshaw. Pues bien, en este álbum tenemos un DnB exploratorio en cuanto a sonidos elementales se refiere: es novedosa la incursión de percusiones africanas y el manejo de la lírica ligera y que, sin pretensiones, invita a disfrutar del ritmo. Se perciven las notas Liquid que han caracterizado a esta ola de Djs de DnB y me gusta mucho la armonía entre el bajo y los beats. Cosa curiosa es ese toque House que tienen algunos temas y que me parece bastante fresco. Tengo que decir que me ha tomado por sorpresa, una muy bienvenida sorpresa.

Los temas que más me han gustado son "Say You love me", "Could this be love", ese cálido jungle de "Nothing can replace", y el Deep House de "Midas".

Seba, el autor de grandes temas amorosos dentro de la escena Drum and Bass, ha hecho un disco esperado, al menos por mí, desde hace mucho tiempo. Es un gustazo que no ha perdido el toque y que la música sigue siendo igual de buena y disfrutable. El lanzamiento de Identity ha sido por vía mp3 pero no logro encontrar el enlace oficial para comprarlo. Así que esperemos que después de escuchar el playlist que hemos agregado al pie de esta entrada, vayan a adquirir la copia digital.
